Delivery reliability up to 91% from 20% in 6 months
Background
Our client was facing a growing number of customer complaints for not delivering on time.
Approach
R&G set up a customer-centric performance measurement based on the requested delivery date. The unexpectedly low performance and the subsequent analysis helped the team to identify plenty of possible causes and to narrow them down to a few critical issues that included the quality of the production plan and its follow-up on the work floor. Surprisingly the high variability in yield proved not to be a key factor.
Results
On-time-delivery, in the customer's eyes, went up from a staggering low to over 90% within six months. This was quickly followed by higher rankings in the customer supplier reviews.
